Can I get same-day darshan at Tirumala?

Yes, you absolutely can get same-day darshan at Tirumala. In fact, 2026 has brought significant changes that make same-day darshan more accessible than ever before, particularly through the Srivani Trust online current booking system. Whether you are already in Tirupati or planning a last-minute pilgrimage, there are multiple pathways to have darshan of Lord Venkateswara on the very same day.

To understand how same-day darshan compares to other categories, you may want to read our guide on what is the difference between VIP Darshan and Break Darshan. For those seeking the premium same-day experience, our article on what is VIP break darshan at TTD provides a complete overview.

Here are all the ways you can secure same-day darshan in 2026.

Option 1: Srivani Trust Online Current Booking (Best Same-Day Option)

The Srivani Trust online current booking is the most reliable and popular same-day darshan option. From January 9, 2026, TTD shifted the issuance of Srivani Darshan tickets from offline counters to an online-only current booking system. The 800 Srivani Trust Break Darshan tickets that were earlier available only at Tirumala counters are now offered through the online platform.

How It Works

  • Tickets Released: Daily at 9:00 AM
  • Booking Window: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Reporting Time:4:00 PM at Tirumala for same-day darshan
  • Darshan Time: Approximately 4:00 PM

By booking tickets online from 9 AM onwards, devotees can conveniently avail darshan of Sri Venkateswara Swamy by reporting at 4 PM on the same day.

Cost

Component Amount
Srivani Trust Donation ₹10,000
Darshan Ticket Fee ₹500
Total Per Person ₹10,500

From March 2026, TTD introduced the option to pay the total amount of ₹10,500 in a single online transaction. To understand the full benefits of this ticket, read our guide on what is the benefit of a ₹10,000 ticket in TTD.

Dedicated Donor Quota (From June 10, 2026)

TTD has earmarked 300 tickets every day for eligible donors who have already contributed ₹10,000 to the Srivani Trust and are awaiting darshan tickets. This facility applies to donations made on or after May 1, 2025.

Key details:

  • Release Time: Daily at 9 AM
  • Booking Deadline: Before 1 PM for same-day darshan at 4 PM
  • Validity: Until March 31, 2027

Devotees who book their tickets before 1 PM will be provided darshan on the same day at 4 PM.

TTD Plans Airport-Style Lounges

Devotees taking Srivani current booking tickets collect tokens around 9 AM but get darshan only at 4 PM. They are not provided rooms. To address this, TTD is considering converting the vacant old Woodside Hotel near Annamayya Bhavan into a waiting lounge with restrooms, seating, internet, and a food court.

Option 2: Slotted Sarva Darshan (SSD) Tokens – Free Same-Day Darshan

For budget-conscious pilgrims, Slotted Sarva Darshan (SSD) tokens offer a free, timed entry into the Tirumala temple's darshan queue. These tokens allocate a fixed darshan time slot, typically between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM, unlike the traditional system where devotees wait for 12 to 24+ hours.

Where to Get SSD Tokens

Devotees can collect tokens from three offline counters in Tirupati (not Tirumala):

Counter Location
Srinivasam Complex Central Bus Stand
Vishnu Nivasam Railway Station
Bhudevi Complex Alipiri Tollgate

Daily Issue Timings

Tokens are issued for the next day's darshan, with counters opening around 12:30 PM. Pilgrims, especially on weekends, are advised to join the queue by 11:00 AM due to limited quota availability.

Important Rules

  • Tokens are mandatory for all adults
  • Physical presence is required; tokens are non-transferable
  • Children under 12 get free entry with parents without a token
  • Each token entitles devotees to a free laddu prasadam

To understand how SSD compares to other darshan options, read our guide on what is the difference between VIP Darshan and Special Entry Darshan.

Option 3: Divya Darshan – For Those Who Walk

If you are willing to climb the hills on foot, Divya Darshan offers a free same-day darshan option.

How It Works

  • Start via Alipiri (longer, gentler) or Srivari Mettu (shorter, steeper)
  • Collect Divya Darshan tokens on the path (en-route counters)
  • Finish the climb and report at VQC as per token time

Pro Tips: Begin at dawn, carry 1L water and ORS, wear good grip footwear, and keep baggage minimal.

Option 4: NRI Darshan – On-Arrival for Foreign Passport Holders

Non-Resident Indians and foreign passport holders can avail NRI Darshan on arrival at Tirumala.

Eligibility and Process

  • Where: SED Hall near VQC-1 in Tirumala
  • Documents: Passport (and visa/OCI as applicable)
  • Fee: Typically ₹300 per person at the counter
  • Flow: Verification → pay → report per the issued slip

NRI Darshan is often available for same-day darshan, subject to crowd conditions. To understand the complete eligibility criteria, read our guide on who is eligible for NRI darshan in Tirumala.

Option 5: Special Category Darshan – On-Arrival

Several categories of devotees can get same-day darshan without prior booking:

Category Details
Infant Darshan (Supadham) Baby under 1 year with both parents; free; no advance booking
Senior Citizens (65+) Dedicated Special Darshan quotas; one attendant may be allowed
Physically Challenged Dedicated quotas with valid proof
