If you are planning a pilgrimage to Tirumala, staying updated on the latest changes is essential. 2026 has brought multiple major updates to the darshan system — from Monday VIP Break cancellations to new donor quotas, online booking overhauls, and the upcoming twin Brahmotsavams.
Here is everything you need to know.
1. Monday VIP Break Darshan Cancelled
In a significant move to prioritise common pilgrims, TTD has cancelled Monday's VIP Break Darshan and withdrawn the same-day online Srivani Darshan quota.
What this means for you:
- VIP Break Darshan is not available on Mondays
- The quota of 800 same-day online Srivani Darshan tickets has also been withdrawn on Mondays
- Quotas under the SSD category and certain other privileged darshan categories have been reduced
Why this happened: The hill shrine witnessed one of the biggest pilgrim rushes in recent years, with more than 1.5 lakh devotees waiting for darshan on a Saturday alone. TTD normally facilitates darshan for 85,000 to 87,000 devotees a day. All officers and employees have been directed not to avail themselves of leave until the situation returns to normal.

2. VIP Break Darshan Cancelled on Select Dates Until September 30, 2026
TTD has announced the cancellation of VIP Break Darshans on several specific dates between July and September 2026.

July 2026:
- July 14 – Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam
- July 17 – Anivara Asthanam
- July 19 – Pedda Maryada to Swamiji of Sri Andavan Ashramam
- July 29 – Chaturmasya Sankalpam of the Tirumala Jeeyar Swamijis
August 2026:
- August 22 – Ankurarpanam for Pavitrotsavams
- August 24 – Pavitra Samarpana (second day of Pavitrotsavams)
September 2026:
- September 8 – Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam
- September 14 – Ankurarpanam
- September 15 to 23 – Complete suspension during Srivari Brahmotsavams
Critical Rule for Recommendation Letters
On the day preceding each of these dates, VIP recommendation letters will NOT be accepted — except for Protocol Dignitaries.

3. Twin Brahmotsavams 2026: September 15–23 & October 12–20
TTD is gearing up for twin Brahmotsavams this year — a unique feature occurring once in three years due to the astrological phenomenon called 'Adhika Masam'.

- Navaratri Brahmotsavams: October 12–20, 2026
What This Means for Pilgrims
- VIP Break Darshans will be completely suspended during the Brahmotsavams
- Arjitha Sevas such as Astadala Pada Padmaradhana Seva, Tiruppavada Seva, Arjita Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva, and Sahasra Deepalankarana Seva will remain suspended throughout the festival period
- Special darshan privileges for senior citizens, physically challenged, parents with infants, NRIs, and donors will also be cancelled

4. Major Change: Srivani Darshan Tickets — Dedicated Donor Quota of 300 Tickets
From June 10, 2026, TTD has introduced a significant change benefiting Srivani Trust donors. Of the 800 tickets available under the daily current booking quota, TTD has earmarked 300 tickets every day for eligible donors who have already contributed ₹10,000 to the Srivani Trust.

- Eligibility: Donations made on or after May 1, 2025
- Release time: Daily at 9 AM
- Booking deadline: Must be completed by 1 PM for same-day darshan at 4 PM
- Validity: Until March 31, 2027
- Unused tickets: Reverted to the current booking quota

5. Booking Overhaul: Single Payment for Srivani Tickets
TTD has overhauled the Srivani ticket booking process to address a long-standing frustration: devotees who donated ₹10,000 were often unable to secure a ticket due to limited daily quotas.
What Has Changed
Under the previous system, devotees had to donate ₹10,000 first and then compete for a ₹500 ticket separately.
Now, devotees can pay the total amount — ₹10,000 as donation plus ₹500 for the ticket, amounting to ₹10,500 — in a single online transaction.
Devotees can now select an available darshan slot at the time of making the payment itself. Once the payment is completed, the ticket is instantly confirmed.
Important
TTD has cautioned devotees to book Srivani tickets only through its official website and to avoid fake or unauthorized portals.

6. No Offline Quota of Srivani Tickets from January 9
TTD announced a major overhaul of the Srivani Darshan ticketing system effective from January 9, 2026.
What Has Changed
- 800 tickets previously issued daily through offline counters at Tirumala have been migrated to online current booking
- Tickets are released daily at 9 AM and remain available until 2 PM
- Devotees who successfully secure tickets must report for darshan on the same day at 4 PM
- Aadhaar authentication and mobile number verification are now mandatory
- Ticket allocation is restricted to one family comprising up to four members (1+3)

The offline current booking of 200 tickets per day at Tirupati Airport will continue.

7. TTD Plans Airport-Style Lounge for Srivani Current Booking Holders
TTD is reportedly planning to set up a dedicated lounge for devotees who book Srivani tickets through current booking.
The problem: Devotees taking current booking tickets collect tokens around 9 AM but get darshan only at 4 PM. They are not provided rooms.
The solution: TTD is considering converting the vacant old Woodside Hotel near Annamayya Bhavan into a waiting lounge. The proposed facility will have restrooms, seating, bathrooms, internet, and a food court.

8. Crowd Management and Waiting Times
TTD has been implementing several measures to manage crowds and reduce waiting times:
AI-Powered Command Center
An AI-powered Integrated Command Control Centre has slashed darshan waiting times from 36 hours to just 14 hours. The TTD officials have taken steps to ensure that darshan time does not exceed 8 hours.

- Slotted Sarvadarshanam: Completed in less than 3 hours
- ₹300 Special Darshan: Within 2.5 hours
Recent Pilgrim Footfall
- September 5, 2026: 84,176 pilgrims had darshan
- June 27, 2026: More than 1.5 lakh devotees thronged the hill shrine on a single day
Waiting Times During Rush
- On peak days, devotees opting for Sarvadarshan without tokens faced waiting times of up to 24 hours
- On May 9, 2026, even as 81,512 pilgrims had darshan, the waiting time was maintained between 14 and 16 hours

9. New Srivani Darshan Ticket Centre Opened
TTD officially opened a new SRIVANI Darshan Ticket Centre opposite Tirumala Annamayya Bhavan. The state-of-the-art facility was inaugurated by TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu.
