2026 has brought multiple major changes to the system—from cancellation of Monday darshan to new donor quotas and even a warning about fake lifetime darshan offers.

What is the latest news on VIP break darshan at Tirumala?

If you are planning a pilgrimage to Tirumala, staying updated on VIP Break Darshan rules is essential. 2026 has brought multiple major changes to the system—from cancellation of Monday darshan to new donor quotas and even a warning about fake lifetime darshan offers. Understanding these changes is crucial for a successful pilgrimage, whether you are exploring the how to get VIP in TTD or trying to figure out who is eligible for TTD VIP Break Darshan.

Here is everything you need to know about the latest developments.

1. Monday VIP Break Darshan Cancelled

In a significant move to prioritise common pilgrims, TTD has cancelled Monday's VIP Break Darshan. The decision came as the hill shrine witnessed one of the biggest pilgrim rushes in recent years, with more than 1.5 lakh devotees waiting for darshan on a Saturday. The quota of 800 same-day online Srivani Darshan tickets has also been withdrawn.

What this means for you:

  • VIP Break Darshan is not available on Mondays
  • Quotas under the SSD category and certain other privileged darshan categories have been reduced to allow more time for Sarva Darshan devotees
  • TTD normally facilitates darshan for 85,000 to 87,000 devotees a day, but the current surge has necessitated these special measures

To understand how these changes affect your visit, read our guide on which day is less crowded in Tirumala.

2. VIP Break Darshan Cancelled on Select Dates Until September 30, 2026

TTD has announced the cancellation of VIP Break Darshans on several specific dates between July and September 2026 in view of major religious festivals and temple rituals.

Full List of Cancellation Dates

July 2026:

  • July 14 – Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam
  • July 17 – Anivara Asthanam
  • July 19 – Pedda Maryada to the Swamiji of Sri Andavan Ashramam
  • July 29 – Chaturmasya Sankalpam of the Tirumala Jeeyar Swamijis

August 2026:

  • August 22 – Ankurarpanam for Pavitrotsavams
  • August 24 – Pavitra Samarpana (second day of Pavitrotsavams)

September 2026:

  • September 8 – Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam in connection with Srivari Brahmotsavams
  • September 14 – Ankurarpanam
  • September 15 to 23COMPLETE SUSPENSION during the annual Srivari Brahmotsavams

Critical Rule for Recommendation Letters

On the day preceding each of these dates, VIP recommendation letters will NOT be accepted—except for Protocol Dignitaries. For example, if VIP Break Darshans are cancelled on July 14, recommendation letters will not be accepted on July 13.

3. Brahmotsavams: Complete Suspension of All Special Darshan Formats

Anticipating exceptionally heavy pilgrim turnout, TTD has decided to cancel VIP Break Darshans throughout the Brahmotsavams.

What this means:

  • VIP Break Darshan will remain completely suspended from September 15 to 23, 2026
  • The lone exception is Protocol Dignitaries
  • Darshan facilities for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, parents with infants, and donors will also remain suspended during the festival

4. Major Change: Dedicated Donor Quota of 300 Tickets

From June 10, 2026, TTD has introduced a significant change benefiting Srivani Trust donors. A dedicated daily quota of 300 tickets is now reserved for devotees who have already contributed ₹10,000 to the Srivani Trust.

Key Details of the New Quota

  • Eligibility: Donations made on or after May 1, 2025
  • Source: Carved out from the existing 800 daily current-booking tickets
  • Unclaimed tickets: If tickets under this quota remain unclaimed, they revert to the general current-booking pool
  • Purpose: To reduce waiting times for Srivani Trust donors

This facility applies to eligible donors who made their donations on or after May 1, 2025. The revamped allocation mechanism came into force from June 10, 2026.

5. Current Booking Shifted Online: Offline Counters Discontinued

One of the most important updates for 2026: TTD has discontinued most offline counters in Tirumala for Srivani Trust VIP Break Darshan booking.

What has changed:

  • The familiar counters at the JEO Office, Gokulam Rest House, GNC counter, and Vijaya Bank counter are no longer the standard path
  • 800 SRIVANI Break Darshan tickets have been moved from offline counters to online current booking
  • This shift is designed to reduce physical crowding on the hill and improve convenience for devotees

Online Booking Schedule

  • Booking time: Daily from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Reporting time: Devotees must report at Tirumala by 4:00 PM on the same day
  • Advance booking: 500 tickets are available three months in advance
  • Airport counter: 200 tickets are available offline at Tirupati Airport

Offline Exceptions

While most offline counters are discontinued, 200 tickets remain available offline at Tirupati Airport exclusively for flight passengers.

6. TTD Plans Lounges for Srivani Current Booking Ticket Holders

To address the hardship faced by devotees taking current booking tickets—who collect tokens around 9 AM but get darshan only at 4 PM—TTD is reportedly planning to set up a dedicated lounge.

Proposed facility:

  • Located at the vacant old Woodside Hotel near Annamayya Bhavan
  • Will have restrooms, seating, bathrooms, internet, and a food court
  • Designed like airport lounges for comfort during the waiting period

Currently, devotees taking current booking tickets are not provided rooms, and most stay at hotels downhill and come up before the darshan time. An official announcement from TTD is awaited.

For a detailed breakdown of how much time the entire process takes, read our guide on how much time does VIP Break Darshan take.

7. Scam Alert: No Lifetime VIP Darshan for Property Purchase

TTD has filed a police complaint against a private real estate company for falsely claiming that buying residential plots would grant "Lifetime Srivari VIP Break Darshan".

Key facts:

  • TTD has not authorised any private real estate company to offer Lifetime Srivari VIP Break Darshan in exchange for purchasing property
  • The offer has been declared fake
  • Devotees are advised not to fall for such claims

The only legitimate way to get VIP Break Darshan is through the official TTD portal: ttdevasthanams.ap.gov.in.

8. Recommendation Letters Suspended During Peak Months

To prioritise common pilgrims during the high-demand months of May, June, and July 2026, TTD suspended all VIP Break Darshans based on recommendation letters.

What this means:

  • The only way to access the VIP line during this period was through Srivani Trust Donation
  • Recommendation letters are still being accepted during other periods, subject to availability
