Who can give VIP darshan in Tirumala?

If you have ever wondered who has the authority to grant VIP Darshan at the Tirumala temple, the answer is straightforward: only the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has the authority to issue VIP Darshan tickets. No private individual, agent, or organization can "give" VIP Darshan.

However, there are specific pathways through which devotees can access VIP Darshan. Understanding these pathways is essential to avoid falling victim to scams and to plan your pilgrimage correctly.

To understand how VIP Darshan differs from regular darshan categories, you may want to read our guide on what is the difference between VIP Darshan and Break Darshan. For a complete overview of the premium experience itself, our article on what is VIP break darshan at TTD explains what to expect.

The Only Authorized Provider: TTD

TTD is the sole authority for issuing VIP Darshan tickets at Tirumala. Any claim by a private individual or agent that they can "arrange" or "give" you VIP Darshan is a scam. TTD has repeatedly warned devotees against such fraudulent activities and has filed police complaints against companies making false promises.

To understand how to secure VIP Darshan through legitimate channels, read our guide on how to get VIP in TTD.

The Three Pathways to VIP Darshan

While TTD is the only authority, there are three legitimate pathways through which devotees can access VIP Darshan:

Pathway Who Can Access Cost
Srivani Trust Donation Any devotee ₹10,500 per person
Protocol VIP Darshan Constitutional authorities & senior officials ₹500 per person
Recommendation Letter Those with official letters from MPs, MLAs, judges ₹500 per person

To understand who qualifies across all categories, read our guide on who is eligible for VIP darshan in Tirumala.

Pathway 1: Srivani Trust Donation – Open to All Devotees

The Srivani Trust donation route is the most accessible pathway for ordinary devotees. It is open to any devotee willing to make the required donation. You do not need any political connections, recommendation letters, or special status.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Make a minimum donation of ₹10,000 to the Sri Venkateswara Alaya Nirmana (SRIVANI) Trust
  • Pay an additional ₹500 darshan ticket fee
  • Total cost: ₹10,500 per person

2026 Update: Dedicated Donor Quota

From June 10, 2026, TTD has introduced a dedicated quota of 300 tickets daily exclusively for devotees who have already contributed ₹10,000 to the Srivani Trust.

Key details:

  • Eligibility: Donations made on or after May 1, 2025
  • Release time: Daily at 9 AM
  • Booking deadline: Must be completed by 1 PM for same-day darshan
  • Darshan time: Same day at 4 PM

To understand how to book through this route, read our guide on how can I get ₹10,000 break darshan tickets in Tirumala.

Pathway 3: Recommendation Letter – For Those with Official Letters

This pathway allows access through official recommendation letters from authorised public representatives.

Who Can Issue a Recommendation Letter

  • MPs and MLAs (from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana)
  • IAS, IPS, and IFS officers
  • Judges and other constitutional dignitaries

How It Works

  • The recommendation letter must be on the official letterhead of the concerned public representative

  • The names and details of all attendees must be clearly mentioned in the letter
  • Letters must be submitted in person at the JEO Camp Office in Tirumala
  • Biometric verification is mandatory
  • A confirmation message regarding the darshan schedule is sent between 6 PM and 10 PM

Cost

₹500 per person (ticket fee only)

Important 2026 restriction: On the day preceding festival cancellation dates, VIP recommendation letters will not be accepted, except for Protocol Dignitaries.

Important: TTD's Warning Against Scams

TTD has issued a strong warning against fraudulent activities related to VIP Darshan. In a recent case, TTD filed a police complaint against a private real estate company for falsely claiming that buying residential plots would grant "Lifetime Srivari VIP Break Darshan".

Key facts:

  • TTD has not authorised any private company to offer Lifetime Srivari VIP Break Darshan in exchange for purchasing property
  • The offer has been declared fake
  • Devotees are advised not to fall for such claims

The only legitimate way to get VIP Break Darshan is through the official TTD portal: ttdevasthanams.ap.gov.in.
